Needle Felted Caterpillar

Starting with a premade wet felted base, learn a bit of needle felting by applying the distinctive striped patterns of the Monarch caterpillar to the base. Make it look real and give it personality! This project will not be completed in class, but instructions for finishing will be included along with beads and supplies to give it the finishing touches. No previous needle felting experience. $15 supply fee included.

Urban Wilderness Earth Day Contest and Event

This year UEC and the Great Waters Group of the Sierra Club will be sponsoring a contest for people of all ages to artistically answer the question: “What is your favorite local green space or park, and why?” We encourage all people in the Milwaukee area to answer this question in words, artwork, video, song or dance. Prizes will be given out to all age groups (12 and under, 13-17, and 18+), with the winners announced at the Earth Day celebration on April 23 at UEC’s Washington Park branch. Entrants will display their work in the auditorium and winners are asked to perform or exhibit their work onstage. Rules and other information on the website.
