Encaustic Workshop
The technique of painting with wax has been around since the time of the Egyptians. Artists throughout the ages have employed this method of mixing wax medium into oil paint, applying it to a rigid surface, and "burning" it in using heat. In modern times the heat gun has become the most popular tool for this purpose. Participants will have the opportunity to explore this technique and to experiment with a variety of applications including collage and stenciling. Please bring a bag lunch. Fee: $75.00 Member Fee: $62.00 Online registration closes three days before class begins. Classes are held at RAM's Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine.
