With the RNC bringing its homophobic, anti-choice, fascist clown car of a convention to Milwaukee, progressives need laughs now more than ever. Laughing Liberally Milwaukee, a monthly progressive political comedy show, brings you a special anti-RNC show packed with our funniest, leftist and most pissed-off performers. Before downtown turns into a police state, come vent some anti-RNC steam and laugh at the spectacle with like minded progressives.

Laughing Liberally Milwaukee is hosted by comedian, cartoonist and satirist Matthew Filipowicz. Matthew’s work has been featured by CNN, NPR, PBS, HBO, BBC, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, the Nation, the London Times, Ain’t It Cool News, and the Huffington Post. Matthew also hosts the creatively titled Laughing Liberally Milwaukee Podcast.

Comedians on the July 13th bill include Kristin Lytie, Josh Fred, Syed, Chloe Mikala and sketch comedy troupe The Accountants Of Homeland Security.

In addition to some of the finest progressive comedians Milwaukee has to offer, each Laughing Liberally Milwaukee features a special interview with a local activist, journalist, or political figure. Discussing free speech and the right to protest heading into the RNC, this month’s guest is Tim Muth, staff attorney from the ACLU of Wisconsin.
