Built in 1903, St. James is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its architects, Ferry & Clas, designed a number of prominent buildings in Milwaukee including the Central Library and the Pabst Mansion. Alfred C. Clas of Ferry & Clas lived at Saint James Court.
