Refreshing the Conversation Around Pressing Water Challenge
The Water Council's reimagined summit will address AI, radical collaboration & more
The Water Council’s newly imagined ReFRESH: Resilience in Freshwater Summit, will take place Oct. 13-14 in Milwaukee, bringing together leaders from across the water sector to discuss stubborn challenges, radical collaboration and real action.
This event updates The Water Council’s annual thought leadership summit to explore unexpected partnerships, honest conversations and commitments to move forward, featuring a new venue – Discovery World, on the shore of Lake Michigan – and a new moderator – Travis Loop, founder of the waterloop news outlet and a 20-year veteran of the water communications sector.
Highlights include:
- An opening session with leaders of three of the most important groups in water: David LaFrance, CEO of the American Water Works Association; John Ikeda, chief mission officer of the Water Environment Federation; and Pauli Undesser, CEO of the Water Quality Association.
- A look at how AI is moving from hype to reality in the water sector, led by a case study from Wilo and the Microsoft Co-Innovation Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The summit will also include a panel discussion on AI and practical, real-time demonstrations of AI applications.
- A roundtable with leaders of the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern project, one of the largest restoration projects in the history of the Great Lakes.
