Brewers Name Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for August

Dickinson Named Player of the Month; Torres Selected as Pitcher of the Month

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Daniel Dickinson as their Minor League Player of the Month and left-handed pitcher Wande Torres as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August.

Additionally, infielder Diego Frontado was named the organization’s Complex League Player of the Month and left-handed pitcher Alexander Mercedes earned Complex League Pitcher of the Month.

Dickinson, 22, batted .343/.452/.581 (36-for-105) with a 1.033 OPS, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 4 HR, 19 RBI, 25 runs and 18 stolen bases in 27 games for Class-A Wisconsin in August.

Selected by the Brewers in the sixth round of the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University, Dickinson led the Midwest League in batting average, hits and stolen bases in August. He also tied for first in runs and ranked among league leaders in on-base percentage (4th), doubles (4th), total bases (T4th, 61), extra-base hits (T5th, 15) and OPS (7th) for the month.

Torres, 21, went 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA (25.2ip, 5er) in 5 appearances (3 starts) for Class-A Wisconsin in August, recording 33 strikeouts with just 8 walks. He tied for first in the Midwest League in wins and ranked among leaders in ERA (2nd), strikeouts (T2nd), WHIP (5th, 1.09), innings pitched (6th) and opponent batting average (6th, .213).

Signed by the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic in January 2022, Torres ended the month by working 12.2 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run over his final three outings. Torres also earned Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Month honors for July.

Frontado, 17, posted a .452 OBP and an .801 OPS in 13 games for Rookie DSL Brewers Blue in August. He was signed by the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela in January 2026.

Mercedes, 17, went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA (14ip, 3er) in 3 appearances (2 starts) for Rookie DSL Brewers Blue in August, recording 16 strikeouts with just 4 walks while holding opponents to a .146 (7-for-48) batting average. Mercedes was signed by the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic in January 2026.
