Supervisor Vincent Welcomes Milwaukee County Students Back to School for 2026-27 School Year
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisor Kathleen Vincent is welcoming students, families, educators, and school staff across Milwaukee County as the 2026-27 school year begins, encouraging young people to approach the new school year with curiosity, confidence, and a commitment to learning. As a longtime educator beginning her 37th year of teaching, Vincent knows firsthand the excitement, challenges, and opportunities that come with the start of a new school year.
“The first day of school is always a special time, filled with new possibilities, new goals, and new opportunities to grow,” said Vincent. “As I begin my 37th year as an educator, I am reminded every year of the incredible potential that exists in every classroom and in every student. Our young people deserve every opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, and that starts with strong schools, dedicated educators, engaged families, and a community that believes in them.”
Vincent also recognized her fellow teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, support staff, bus drivers, nutrition workers, and other professionals who work each day to create safe and welcoming learning environments for students.
“To our educators and school staff: thank you for the work you do every day to inspire and support our children,” Vincent said. “Teaching is more than a profession; it’s an investment in the future of our community. And to our students, I want you to know that your community is cheering you on. Dream big, ask questions, work hard, and never be afraid to discover something new.”
Vincent encouraged families and community members throughout Milwaukee County to support students throughout the school year by staying engaged with their schools, celebrating academic and extracurricular achievements, and helping our young people recognize the many opportunities available to them.
“A successful school year takes all of us,” Vincent said. “When we invest in our students, we invest in the future of Milwaukee County. I wish every student, family, educator, and school employee a safe, successful, and inspiring school year.”
