Packers Announce Roster Moves

The Green Bay Packers have signed TE McCallan Castles and TE Drew Biber and waived/injured TE Luke Lachey and TE RJ Maryland. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.

(mick-CAL-un) Castles (6-4, 244), a first-year player out of the University of Tennessee, spent the second half of last season on the Packers’ practice squad and part of the offseason with Green Bay before being released April 17. He originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. Castles spent time on the practice squad of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 before being released early in the 2025 training camp. Castles spent the rest of 2025 training camp with the Los Angeles Rams before being released. In six collegiate seasons (2018-23), he posted 1,226 yards and 14 TDs on 92 receptions (13.3 avg.) in 46 career games (24 starts). Castles played for the University of California-Berkeley (2018-19), UC Davis (2020-22) and Tennessee (2023). He will wear No. 47 for the Packers.

(BIB-er) Biber (6-3, 247) is a rookie who played four seasons for Purdue (2021-24) and one season at the University of Minnesota (2025). Overall, he saw action in 50 games, recording 33 receptions for 271 yards (8.2 avg.) and a TD. Last season, Biber set career highs in games played (13), receptions (18) and receiving yards (136). The Cedarburg, Wis., native will wear No. 46 for the Packers.
