Alverno College Appoints Two New Members to the Board of Trustees

MILWAUKEE, (July 28, 2026) – Alverno College is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Keehn and Jess Johnson to its Board of Trustees. Both bring extensive leadership experience in health care and a strong commitment to service. The addition of these trustees will bring contributions and expertise in strategic planning, operational excellence, and organizational leadership and will strengthen the board’s oversight of the college’s strategic priorities. Their terms began July 1.
Keehn was strategic director for Life Care Solutions at GE Healthcare prior to retiring. Before joining GE Healthcare, she spent many years in acute care nursing and later held leadership roles in sales, marketing, and product development within the health care equipment industry.
She previously served on the boards of the Milwaukee Area Girl Scout Council, the predecessor to Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. She also served on the boards of ACTS Housing and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Foundation, where she served as treasurer and a member of the executive committee. Keehn also volunteers for special events with Milwaukee Public Schools and helped lead the historic restoration of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where she serves as an elder.
Keehn earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Johnson is chief operating officer of Aurora St. Luke’s, Aurora Sinai, and Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore Medical Centers in Milwaukee, where she oversees hospital operations. Previously she served as chief operating officer for the Charleston Division of the Medical University of South Carolina’s health system, MUSC Health. She also held roles at Duke University Hospital as an administrative director and strategic services associate.
Johnson was named to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2026 “40 Under 40” class in recognition of her contributions to health care leadership in southeastern Wisconsin and her commitment to developing future leaders.
She earned a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
