Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Lisa Neubauer Endorses Judge Nathan Petrashek

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Lisa Neubauer today announced her endorsement of Judge Nathan Petrashek to continue serving on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District I.

“Appellate judges have an extraordinary responsibility,” said Judge Neubauer. “Every decision requires careful preparation, thoughtful legal analysis, and an unwavering commitment to applying the law fairly and impartially. Nathan Petrashek has spent his career developing exactly those qualities. His time serving the Court of Appeals has given him exceptional knowledge of Wisconsin law, sound judicial judgment, and a deep appreciation for the role our courts play in protecting the rights of every Wisconsinite. Judge Petrashek possesses the intellect, temperament, and integrity that define an outstanding judge, and I am proud to endorse him to continue serving on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.”

Judge Neubauer has served on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals District II for 18 years, including as Chief Judge from 2015 to 2021, and will retire at the end of this month. Judge Neubauer has been recognized for her fairness, thoughtful legal analysis, and steadfast commitment to the rule of law. As Chief Judge, she helped lead Wisconsin’s appellate courts through years of complex legal challenges while fostering a judiciary built on integrity, independence, and public trust.

Judge Nathan Petrashek serves on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District I, representing Milwaukee County. He was appointed by Governor Tony Evers after more than sixteen years serving the Court of Appeals as a law clerk and staff attorney. During that time, he worked on hundreds of appeals involving constitutional law, criminal procedure, family law, civil litigation, personal injury, and many other areas of Wisconsin law, helping judges resolve some of the state’s most consequential legal questions.

Throughout his career, Judge Petrashek has been committed to ensuring equal justice under the law, safeguarding the independence of Wisconsin’s courts, and preserving public confidence in the judicial system. He believes every person deserves to have their case heard fairly, decided impartially, and resolved according to the law.
