Milwaukee (July 22, 2026) – MKE JAZZ.LIVE, a new web app officially unveiled today, for the first time lets jazz fans easily find live jazz shows across the Milwaukee area, with a calendar that lists performances by more than 250 artists and ensembles at nearly 70 venues.

MKE JAZZ.LIVE displays a robust, easy-to-use calendar of jazz shows across the Milwaukee area, with new concerts added daily.

Users visit mkejazz.live on a mobile browser and see a streamlined, app-like calendar that lets them find shows by date or venue, with links to more information. The website has the same look and functions on a computer.

The new app was unveiled at a news conference at the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts, the site of one of Milwaukee’s most storied jazz institutions. The event included announcement of the first three non-profit partners of the web app, all leading supporters of live jazz and jazz education in Milwaukee: Jazz Unlimited of Greater Milwaukee, WMSE 91.7 FM and the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts.

The web app was created as a labor of love by Ignacio Catral, a jazz fan, drummer and co-owner of Catral Doyle Creative Co., a web design and development firm.

Catral said that with its development phase completed, the web app is now listing performances at 66 Milwaukee-area venues, with 250 musicians represented and more than 30 jazz performances in a single week. As of this week, more than 200 upcoming shows were listed. About two-thirds of shows on the calendar are found by the app’s programmed search of club websites, with the rest submitted directly by venues and musicians.

“Jazz lovers in Milwaukee know that our club scene and talent are second to none,” Catral said. “MKE JAZZ.LIVE puts jazz shows just a click away for anyone who wants to take advantage of Milwaukee’s great live jazz scene. Not only do music lovers have a tool to find shows they’re interested in, but jazz musicians and clubs get connected to audiences they depend on.”

MKE JAZZ.LIVE’s partner organizations have contributed to the web app to help defray the cost of development and operation, and Catral has donated his time to the project.

“Jazz Unlimited has spent decades keeping jazz in the Milwaukee public’s ear, sponsoring events, investing in emerging musicians and building a community around live music,” said Steve Smith, president of Jazz Unlimited. “MKE JAZZ.LIVE extends that work, with app programming finding shows, and jazz musicians and venues able to submit their shows directly to the online calendar. MKE JAZZ.LIVE will help musicians reach new audiences and let fans take advantage of Milwaukee’s rich environment of talented jazz players.”
