We Energies Invited to Public Works Committee to Discuss Rate Cases, Data Centers
Alderman Alex Brower has introduced file #260484 – communication from We Energies and other agencies relating to rate cases currently before the State of Wisconsin‘s Public Service Commission, as well as the impact of the recent proliferation of data centers. In regard to the communication file, Alderman Brower noted, “We demand that We Energies answer public concerns by attending the meeting of the Public Works Committee this week.” The communication file will be heard at the Public Works Committee meeting on Wednesday, July 22, at 9 a.m.
Alderman Brower believes these topics of public interest should be part of a larger, transparent discussion. “Ratepayers across the city, our constituents, have many questions, comments, and concerns about the current rate case and data centers,” he said. “Because of this, I personally invited representatives from We Energies to attend the committee hearing on Wednesday. While I have yet to hear back on whether anyone from We Energies plans to attend this hearing, I would earnestly welcome their presence, perspective, and engagement with Milwaukee’s elected officials as part of this forum we have created to discuss these timely and important topics.”
The Public Works Committee meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in room 301-B on the third floor of City Hall, 200 E. Wells St. The meeting will be streamed live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
