Roys Raises $1.2 Million
MADISON – Sen. Kelda Roys’ campaign announced Thursday that it has raised over $1.2 million for the the June 30 filing deadline, ensuring that Roys has the resources to communicate with voters ahead of the Aug. 11 primary.
Roys has already made the largest ad buy in the race to date, having been up on TV statewide for 3 ½ weeks already with “Roads,” highlighting her record of expanding access to healthcare and her plans to hold Trump accountable, open up the state health care plan to let anyone buy in and fully fund public education. Her second ad will launch next week.
Roys has demonstrated her commitment to Wisconsin: over 93% of the campaign’s donations came from in-state contributors from every district in the state, with 2,949 contributions and an average contribution amount of under $150. Her campaign is not funded by the AI or crypto industries, AIPAC, or corporate PACs. Roys has the endorsement of the largest union in the state (WEAC), the most endorsements in the race, and is gaining support and momentum every day as the field narrows and voters start to pay attention.
“Kelda has built trust around the state and the people know Kelda will fight for them,” said Jalen Knuteson, spokesperson for the Roys’ campaign. “Kelda is the only candidate with a proven record of delivering progressive victories, and that’s why everyday Wisconsinites are supporting her campaign. Our polling is clear: Kelda’s message performs the best of all the candidates’, and she doesn’t need the most money to win — she just needs enough to get her message out.
“How candidates raise money reflects the type of leader they are and the type of governor they would be. Kelda’s campaign is built on small-dollar grassroots support from everyday voters throughout Wisconsin. She’s the progressive who can win Wisconsin and deliver the transformative change Wisconsinites deserve.”
