MILWAUKEE, WI — May 4, 2026 — This Mother’s Day weekend, Orion Motors invites Milwaukee to celebrate moms with something they actually want: less stress, more ease, and more family QT. Orion Motors Founders Brian and Heidi Dondlinger will host a Mother’s Day Open House and Happy Hour on May 9, 2026, from 3–5 p.m. at their newly expanded Orion Motors shop, 6047 N. Flint Rd. on Milwaukee’s northwest side.

The happy hour will feature mimosas, locally brewed beers, light refreshments, camper van walkthroughs, and shop tours. Families are encouraged to stop in, explore, and start dreaming about summer adventures. “The weekend of Mother’s Day is when people start thinking about everything from youth sports travel to family road trips,” said Brian Dondlinger. “We wanted to create a space where people can slow down and imagine those moments.”

At the heart of Orion’s design philosophy is a simple idea: Make the transitions in real, daily life a little easier, moment by moment. “And, those moments look different for every stage of parenting,” said Heidi Dondlinger. “For some, it’s little kids at the end of a long day: getting them from ‘meltdown to lullaby’ in just a minute or two. For others, it’s late nights after tournaments, road trips between activities, or just squeezing in meaningful time together as schedules get busier. We design Orion 365 to reduce friction in these life moments and more.”

The Orion 365 features two integrated, always-ready double beds that lower effortlessly at the push of a button, allowing the van to comfortably sleep up to five people while still carrying all the gear families need. “Mother’s Day gifts shouldn’t add more work,” Heidi added. “Whether it’s helping manage a packed schedule or making it easier to spend time together, Orion is about giving families more simplicity — and moms a better end to every day.”

At the event, attendees can also reserve future build slots as a unique Mother’s Day gift.

About Orion Motors

Brian and Heidi Dondlinger met as mechanical engineering students at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and founded Orion Motors in 2021 after converting a van for their own family. Today, they operate a “dream factory” focused on creating vehicles that seamlessly transition between driving, sleeping, relaxing, and cargo modes—so families can spend less time setting up, and more time enjoying the journey.
