Mount Mary University Welcomes New Leadership
MILWAUKEE (April 22, 2026) – Greg Rutzen, J.D. has been named Vice President of Advancement for Mount Mary University. Rutzen joins the university with extensive leadership experience in higher education and law. He previously served as Vice President for Advancement and University Relations at Lakeland University in Plymouth, Wis., and Vice Chancellor for University Relations at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Rutzen earned a Bachelor of Science in Law and Public Policy from Indiana University and a Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He currently serves as a board member for the Sheboygan County Museum.
Additionally, Mount Mary University has appointed Rachel Fischer, Ed.D. as Mount Mary’s next Vice President for Student Affairs, and Alexander Patterson, M.S. as Interim Vice President for Enrollment Services.
Fischer previously served as Chief of Staff and Interim Vice President of Enrollment Services for Mount Mary University, and previously as Dean of Students at Holy Family College in Manitowoc, Wis. She holds a Doctor of Education degree from Edgewater University and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Dubuque.
Patterson previously served as Director of Enrollment Services for Mount Mary and Vice President for Enrollment at Northland College in Ashland, Wis. He earned a Master of Science degree from Northland College.
Mount Mary University President Dr. Isabelle Cherney shared that she is excited to welcome the three as they step into their new roles.
“I’m thrilled to have these new cabinet members contributing their skills and talents as Mount Mary expands its vision and continues to innovate the future of education,” she said.
