Jim Piwowarczyk Announces Re-Election Campaign for the 98th Assembly District
Town of Erin – State Rep. Jim Piwowarczyk today announced that he is running for re-election to represent Wisconsin’s 98th Assembly District, highlighting a productive first-term accomplishments that focused on public safety, government accountability, a stronger economy, and election integrity.
During his first term in the State Assembly, Piwowarczyk, a Republican, successfully authored 20 bills and served as chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Government Efficiency and Modernization. He was also the vice chair of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.
“We passed legislation to require Wisconsin sheriffs to cooperate with ICE, legislation to prohibit gender-transition surgeries for minors, and legislation to reform the University of Wisconsin. All were vetoed by Governor Evers,” Piwowarczyk said. “I believe these were common-sense measures that deserved to become law, and I will continue advocating for them on behalf of my constituents.”
Bills signed into law include legislation strengthening Wisconsin’s “Move Over” law to expand it to all disabled vehicles, reforms to improve efficiency in the state’s lottery system, and election integrity measures ensuring that only verified Wisconsin residents may circulate nomination papers.
“I’m proud to have delivered real results for the people of the 98th District in my first term,” said Piwowarczyk. “We didn’t just talk about common-sense reforms, we got them done. From protecting workers on our roads to restoring confidence in our elections, these laws reflect the priorities of the communities I serve.”
Piwowarczyk emphasized that his work has only just begun and pledged to continue advocating for policies that prioritize protecting our children, public safety, and government accountability.
“Our ‘Move Over, Slow Down’ improvements will help save lives, plain and simple,” Piwowarczyk said. “At the same time, ensuring integrity in both our lottery system and our election processes helps build trust in institutions that must work for the people.”
“I’m running for re-election because there’s more work to do,” he added. “I will keep fighting to make sure our district is heard, our laws make sense, and our government remains accountable to the people it serves.”
