Judge Chris Taylor Wins Wisconsin Supreme Court Race, Ensuring Liberal Majority Through 2030
Tonight, Judge Chris Taylor handily beat her right-wing opponent in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, securing a liberal majority on the court through 2030. With this victory, Wisconsinites have a majority on the court that is committed to protecting their reproductive rights, voting rights, and election integrity.
With tonight’s results, Democrats have now won or overperformed in 261 of 292 key elections since Donald Trump retook office.
A reminder: Last year, Elon Musk spent more than $20 million trying to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court at the behest of Donald Trump – but failed.
In response to Judge Taylor’s victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement: “Tonight, Wisconsin voters made it clear: they don’t want a judiciary that will simply rubber stamp Donald Trump’s toxic agenda. Judge Taylor’s victory means Wisconsinites gain another champion on the court who will stand up to corporate greed, defend reproductive rights and our fundamental freedoms, and protect our democracy. While Republicans are more scared than ever about losing big this November, Democrats remain on offense.”
