Alverno Community Conference Will Explore the Power of Personal Stories

Milwaukee, (March 23, 2026) – Alverno College is partnering with Ex Fabula, a Milwaukee-based non-profit that strengthens community bonds through the art of personal storytelling, to host its annual Community Conference. This year’s event will guide participants as they explore how stories build connection, deepen understanding and strengthen our shared future. The conference will take place on Wednesday, April 22, and will offer an in-person session from 1-4 p.m. and a virtual session from 6-9 p.m.

The event will kick off with an interactive keynote by Alexis Outlaw, Ex Fabula board president and an Alverno alum. This session will include examples of stories, strategies for creating brave spaces for storytelling, tips for leveraging stories in a variety of personal and professional contexts, and a chance for participants to practice sharing stories. The opening session will be followed by interactive workshops.
