Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Endorses Judge Chris Taylor for Wisconsin Supreme Court

Milwaukee, WI — Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin (PPAWI) has announced its endorsement of Judge Chris Taylor for Wisconsin Supreme Court, citing her decades-long record of protecting Wisconsinites’ freedoms, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring courts remain fair, impartial, and independent.

“Wisconsin voters know how much judges matter,” said Tanya Atkinson, President of PPAWI. “Judge Chris Taylor has spent her entire career standing up for people — not politics. She understands the real-world consequences of court decisions and has consistently demonstrated the judgment, integrity, and independence Wisconsinites deserve on our highest court.”

Judge Taylor brings nearly three decades of legal experience to the race, having served as an attorney, legislator, and judge. Throughout her career, she has been a steadfast defender of constitutional freedoms and equal justice, earning a reputation for fairness, preparation, and respect for the law.

During her tenure at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and PPAWI, she played a central role in advancing reproductive health and rights by shaping landmark legal and policy strategies to protect and expand access to contraception and family planning. She built and defended Wisconsin Medicaid’s family planning program, developed successful court and legislative strategies to secure contraceptive equity and prevent prescription denials, and helped elect pro-Planned Parenthood leaders statewide.

She also helped build a durable progressive infrastructure — founding a political table that became Wisconsin Progress — and advanced policies strengthening birth control access, comprehensive sex education, STI treatment standards, and public funding for family planning.

“At a time when corporate interests are trying to use the courts to roll back fundamental freedoms and undermine democracy, Wisconsin needs justices who will protect our rights and trust people to make decisions about their own lives,” Atkinson stated. “Chris Taylor is that justice.”
