Under GOP Control, Abortion Rights Would Be First on the Chopping Block
SCOWIS Candidate Maria Lazar, GOP gubernatorial front runner Tom Tiffany, and numerous legislative candidates have all supported a six-week abortion ban or the state’s 1849 abortion ban.
MADISON, Wis. — As the Wisconsin Supreme Court race heats up, far-right candidate Maria Lazar is desperately trying to downplay her extreme views on abortion, including support for a six-week abortion ban and her admission that she would have kept the state’s 1849 abortion ban in place. Lazar’s extreme views are also held by GOP gubernatorial frontrunner Tom Tiffany, as well as frontline legislative candidates like AD-51 Rep. Todd Novak, AD-85 Rep. Pat Snyder, SD-5 candidate Rob Hutton, and SD-17 Candidate Howard Marklein. By 2028, the GOP could control the judicial, legislative, and executive branches and institute a six-week abortion ban.
