Fatal Milwaukee Crash: Passenger Killed, Driver in Custody After High-Speed Collision

Milwaukee Police are investigating a single-vehicle, fatal collision that occurred on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., on the 9300 block of W. Wilbur Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old, was traveling west on W Wilbur Ave at excessive speed when he lost control and struck a tree. The passenger, a 41-year-old, was fatally injured and died on the scene. The driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. This investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
