Representative Taylor Introduce Bill Requiring Ada Compliance at All Wisconsin Dot Service Centers by 2030
MILWAUKEE – Today, Rep. Sequanna Taylor (D-Milwaukee) announced new legislation to ensure every Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) service center that issues operator licenses become fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. Rep. Sequanna Taylor issues the following statement:
“Accessibility is not an option. It is indeed a right. For entirely too long, people with disabilities have been forced to navigate barriers at state facilities just to access basic services. I believe that this legislation will ensure equity and safe access for every Wisconsinite. Whether it’s a person with mobility needs taking a road test, a resident who is hearing impaired navigating communication barriers, or a senior renewing their ID, everyone deserves to enter a DOT facility without barriers.”
