Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley Statement on Trump Administrations Correspondence to Rescind FoodShare Benefits
MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley released the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s letter directing Governor Tony Evers to return November FoodShare payments to the federal government:
“In compliance with the court order requiring the Trump administration to release full SNAP funding for November, Governor Tony Evers took swift, lawful action to ensure Wisconsin residents could access their FoodShare benefits and put food on the table for their families this month.
“I want to thank Governor Evers for standing up and pushing back against this cruel and calculated attempt to starve families.
“We must feed our residents. We must feed our children. And we must demand that Congress end this shutdown and stop using hunger as a political weapon.”
