Mexican Fiesta Presents Día de los Muertos Celebration — November 7 & 8, 2025

A weekend of culture, remembrance, and community at the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation

Milwaukee, WI — Mexican Fiesta invites the community to experience a two-day Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration filled with tradition, art, and cultural performances on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event will take place at the Mexican Fiesta offices, honoring loved ones who have passed through music, dance, storytelling, and ceremony.

The Día de los Muertos celebration is free and open to the public and features a Community Altar available both days from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, where visitors are welcome to bring a photo or ofrenda to honor their loved ones.

Friday, November 7 Highlights

  • 6:30 PM | Ancestral Connection
    Honor your loved ones through a traditional, mystical experience led by Prehispanic spiritual guidance. Reconnect with ancestral energy and celebrate memory, love, and legacy.
  • 7:00 PM | Candlelight & Prehispanic Ceremony
    Performed by Macuixochitl and Dance Academy of México.
  • 7:30 PM | Day of the Dead – Theatrical & Dance Performance
    A stunning production directly from Mexico that explores the roots, mysticism, and syncretism of the Day of the Dead through performance, dance, and storytelling.
  • 8:30 PM | Paint & Sip with Othón Téllez (Pre-registration Required)
    Enjoy an evening of creativity with cultural ambassador Othón Téllez (El Inframundo, La Catrina, Día de los Muertos). Includes one drink and paint supplies. $25 per person.

Saturday, November 8 Highlights

  • 3:30 PM | Day of the Dead – Theatrical & Dance Performance
    An immersive performance brought directly from Mexico.
  • 5:00 PM | Paint & Pan Dulce with Othón Téllez (Pre-registration Required)
    Creative workshop with one drink and supplies included. $25 per person.
  • 6:00 PM | Charla with Othón Téllez
    Join cultural ambassador Othón Téllez for an engaging talk on El Inframundo, La Catrina, and the cultural significance of Día de los Muertos — recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
  • 7:00 PM | Candlelight & Prehispanic Ceremony
    Presented by Macuixochitl and Dance Academy of México.
  • 7:30 PM | Day of the Dead – Theatrical & Dance Performance
    Closing performance of the weekend.
