Everyone, whether they work weekends or not, should be able to brunch on National Brunch Day. To help Café Corazón will extend breakfast-lunch-loving festivities 24 hours and host a special brunch this Monday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Café Corazón in Riverwest (3129 N. Bremen St).

“We want to ensure everyone – first responders, doctors, nurses, and all those in the service industry, can celebrate, too,” said Corazón Co-Owner Wendy Mireles. “It’s something we’re calling ‘National Brunch Day for the rest of us.’”

Café Corazón already hosts Milwaukee’s only Monday Mexican Brunch at its Riverwest restaurant. On Monday, they’ll open early (10 a.m.), have a DJ, and offer Milwaukeeans a complimentary Tequila Sunrise* toast at 11 a.m. “We want to raise a glass to everyone who couldn’t celebrate with us on Sunday,” said Co-Owner George Mireles. “It’s our small way of saying ‘thank you’ to all of those who work Sundays, whether they’re keeping us safe, feeding or entertaining us, or working behind the scenes to make Milwaukee the great town it is.”

Café Corazón: A Milwaukee Must-Try Brunch Spot
All three Café Corazón locations host brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3 p.m. The Riverwest Café Corazónextends the weekend with brunch from 11-3 p.m. on Mondays. Brunch menu highlights include house-made Chilaquiles (fried strips of corn tortillas smothered in Corazon’s handmade red or green enchilada sauce), Migas (eggs scrambled with fried tortilla strips and covered with melted cheddar and your favorite protein), and Huevos Divorciados (two eggs, cooked to order – one with red enchilada sauce and one with green – separated by Corazon’s famed black or pinto beans and housemade rice). Along with Mexican lunch favorites, the Café Corazón brunch menu also has breakfast burritos, tacos and quesadillas.

“Regulars also rave about our Wet Breakfast Burrito, Vegan Tofu Scramble, and the Pig Out Torta, which is pork pibil, bacon, a fried egg, house-pickled onions, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and chipotle aioli, all piled high on a toasted telera bun,” added Riverwest General Manager DeVante Lisch.
