Alderman DiAndre Jackson is encouraging interested applicants to apply for a pair of openings within the City of Milwaukee workforce. The City is actively hiring for the positions of Equipment Operator 1 and City Laborer.

The Equipment Operator 1 performs professional driving and critical manual laboring functions, including municipal solid waste and recycling collection, street sweeping, snow and ice control, and operation of heavy equipment for the Department of Public Works. This position is critical to the cleanliness, health and safety of the City, its residents, and visitors. City Laborers perform light to heavy manual work. City Laborers are employed by the Department of Public Works in the following areas: Streets, Sewers, Electrical Services, Sanitation and Bridges & Buildings.

“Both of these openings offer a variety of benefits including family-supporting wages, potential for career growth, and opportunity to improve the quality of life for residents throughout the city,” said Alderman Jackson. “I would encourage current job seekers, or those potentially looking for a career change, to apply for these openings today.”
