MADISON, WI — The Libertarian Party of Wisconsin (LPWI) has passed a resolution reaffirming its unwavering support for digital privacy, decentralization, and the right to innovate in the realm of cryptocurrency. The resolution comes amid growing federal hostility toward decentralized technologies and increased government overreach targeting crypto developers, entrepreneurs, and advocates.

“Digital privacy and decentralized innovation are not just technological trends, they are extensions of individual liberty,” said Reese Wood, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin.

The resolution condemns the federal government’s prosecution of cryptocurrency innovators like Roman Storm, Roger Ver, and Ian Freeman, characterizing their cases as unjust and politically motivated. LPWI also calls for the immediate end of Operation Chokepoint 2.0, a policy initiative critics say is designed to marginalize the cryptocurrency industry through financial censorship and regulatory intimidation.

The resolution acknowledges public commitments made by Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance to end this discriminatory operation, urging them to uphold those promises and take swift action to protect the rights of individuals working in the cryptocurrency space.

Key Points from the Resolution:

Demands the dismissal of charges against individuals persecuted for crypto innovation.

Calls for the immediate release of Ian Freeman, whose imprisonment is viewed as a violation of constitutional liberties.

Urges the Trump administration to end Operation Chokepoint and cease weaponizing the financial system.

Promotes the rights to digital privacy, decentralization, and technological self-determination.

This resolution aligns with LPWI’s broader commitment to resisting centralized coercion, advancing free markets, and defending civil liberties in the digital age.
