Steve Fuentes Named New MCTS President And CEO
MILWAUKEE — On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the Milwaukee County Department of Transportation announced Steve Fuentes as President and CEO of Milwaukee Transport Services, Inc., which operates the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS).
“Mr. Fuentes brings decades of experience in leading large-scale transit operations and initiatives,” said Milwaukee County Department of Transportation Interim Director John Rodgers. “Milwaukee County is looking forward to the leadership and expertise that he will bring to MCTS, as we continue working to advance sustainable transit solutions that contribute to a thriving regional economy.”Fuentes joins MCTS with more than thirty years of experience in the transit industry, with more than thirteen years of experience in progressive management roles at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Most recently, he served as Regional General Manager, overseeing bus operations for the north region of CTA’s service area.
As President and CEO, Fuentes will lead the MCTS Executive team and oversee the strategic planning process underway at MCTS. He will collaborate with the Milwaukee County Executive, the County Board of Supervisors, the County Department of Transportation, and other local and state elected officials, to ensure Milwaukee County maintains a strong public transit system.
