Ward Named BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore threw second-best javelin mark in program history at Drake Relays

NEW YORK – Marquette University track & field sophomore javelin thrower Riley Ward has been named BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Ward had the second-best javelin throw in program history at the Drake Relays over the weekend with a mark of 41.33 meters, currently the fifth-best mark in the BIG EAST this outdoor season.

Marquette returns to action this Friday, May 2, at the Badger Challenge in Madison.
