Wisconsin Journalism Leaders to Discuss Press Challenges in April 9 Panel

MILWAUKEE – The state of U.S. journalism, which faces new challenges from politicians and market forces, will be the subject of a lively panel discussion featuring three Wisconsin news executives.
The free public event begins at 6 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. Advance registration isn’t required.
Ashworth, Borowski and Stanley will comment on journalism’s challenges, and take audience questions.
Ashworth has overseen Wisconsin Public Radio’s two networks, WPR News and WPR Music, since 2023. Her 25 years of journalism experience includes work as Vermont Public’s head of content, and newsroom roles at Minnesota Public Radio, New Hampshire Public Radio and KBIA, a National Public Radio-member station in Columbia, Missouri.
Borowski was appointed as the Journal Sentinel’s executive editor in 2023. He joined the newspaper in 1998 as City Hall reporter and later served as watchdog team editor and deputy editor for news, projects and investigations. Borowski previously was a reporter at the Marion (Ind.) Chronicle-Tribune and Lansing (Mich.) State Journal.
