Live music, food trucks and a plethora of vendors will fill a downtown stretch of Wisconsin Avenue this summer—but most importantly, so will the hundreds of people who gather for the annual Milwaukee Night Market.

What began as an effort to reinvigorate the Westown neighborhood has grown into one of Milwaukee’s biggest summer attractions, drawing thousands of attendees and showcasing more than 200 small businesses throughout the season.

In 2025, the market will return for four nights: June 11, July 16, Aug. 13 and Sept. 10, with events running from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on W. Wisconsin Avenue between N. 2nd Street and N. Vel R. Phillips Avenue.

Stacie Callies, executive director of Westown Association, praised the market as a platform to uplift and celebrate local talent.

“Four times a year, visitors and locals alike get to experience the transformation of West Wisconsin Avenue as it goes from central business district during the day to an open-air market and dance floor at night,” Callies said in a statement.

In the decade since the Night Market’s inaugural season, its surroundings have changed drastically. The former Grand Avenue Mall has been reimagined as 3rd Street Market Hall, trading traditional retail stores for a mix of food vendors, entertainment and office spaces—including an event venue where an Applebee’s once stood.

New small businesses like Canary Coffee Bar have opened their doors, along with larger players such as Kohl’s. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra transformed a former theater into its new home: Bradley Symphony Center.

Fiserv, a Wisconsin-based financial technology company, returns as the Night Market’s presenting sponsor for a third year, using the event to promote its point-of-sale system, Clover. In 2024, Fiserv relocated its global headquarters to the HUB640 building at W. Wisconsin and N. Vel R. Phillips avenues. It’s now situated on the market’s west end.

Other Milwaukee-based sponsors include GRAEF, Gruber Law Offices and Miller Lite.

Each year, the Night Market curates a lineup of local artists, restaurateurs, farmers, crafters and other vendors, offering everything from barbecue and ice cream to handmade clothing and candles. In 2024, the event featured 245 small businesses, including more than 100 first-time participants.

The deadline to apply as a vendor for the 2025 season has passed; however, interested parties can still apply to join the waitlist. A full list of selected vendors is expected to be released this spring.
