District 5 residents invited to attend upcoming town hall meetings

Statement from Alderman Lamont Westmoreland March 11, 2025

By - Mar 11th, 2025 02:48 pm

I would like to invite all District 5 residents to attend one of two upcoming town hall meetings where we will discuss important updates and the future of our district.

The first meeting will take place tonight – Tuesday, March 11, at 6:00 p.m. at Wellpoint Care Network, located at 8901 W. Capitol Dr. The second meeting will be held on Thursday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m. at New Restoration Church, located at 11248 W. Mill Rd. As mentioned in the recent newsletter that was mailed out to nearly 20,000 residential addresses in the district, these two meetings are an opportunity to come together, get informed, and have your voice heard.

We’ll cover new district initiatives, current and future business growth, and meaningful legislation I’ve passed and am currently working on. You’ll also hear from the City Engineer and Electrical Services Management about streetlight outages – why they happen, how they’re addressed, and what’s being done to fix the ongoing issues. We’ll also discuss potholes, infrastructure improvements, and much more.

These meetings are a chance for us to connect, address concerns, and work together for the betterment of District 5. Bring your questions, passion, and energy – but leave any negativity in the car! In fact, all the Negative Nancys, Negative Neds, Debbie Downers, and Pessimistic Pauls can go ahead and stay home. This is a space for constructive dialogue, solutions, and progress – let’s work together to build a stronger District 5!

If you can’t make it to either meeting, I encourage you to reach out and share your thoughts, ideas, questions, or concerns. You can contact me directly by phone at 414-286-3870 or via email at Lamont.Westmoreland@milwaukee.gov.
