As Elon Musk Takes His Chainsaw to Taxpayer Assistance Services in Milwaukee, Congresswoman Gwen Moore Demands Answers for Constituents
On December 31st, 2025, the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s DOGE team are reportedly planning to terminate the lease on the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC) at 211 W West Wisconsin Ave in Milwaukee. In addition, Taxpayer Advocate Services (TAS) operates out of the same office building, raising serious concerns and questions about the future of TAC and TAS services for Rep. Moore’s constituents. In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:
“While Elon Musk is working to access multi-billion-dollar government contracts, his DOGE team is attacking any part of the government that doesn’t line his own pockets. Last week, their targets were veterans working at Zablocki VA Medical Center, and now they’re going after essential taxpayer assistance services.
I need to know how Trump and Musk plan to help taxpayers in my district with these planned closures. How will the Trump administration fill in the gap once this lease is terminated? Who can my constituents turn to for assistance? My constituents need and deserve answers from the Trump administration and the DOGE team, which is why I will press for answers and support efforts to block these arbitrary and ill-advised closures.”
