Madison, WI — Today, at the Wisconsin State Capitol, Governor Tony Evers delivered his State of the State Address – outlining the work he has done for Wisconsin and highlighting his vision for the year ahead.

Representative Renuka Mayadev (D-77) released the following statement:

“Governor Evers declared 2025 the Year of the Kid! His address tonight illustrated our commitment to building a brighter future for children across Wisconsin. From increased investments in public education and mental health resources to ensuring our students have access to school meals and clean and safe water, the Governor is committed to Wisconsin’s youth. I was also pleased to see that the Governor pushed urgent action to keep our communities and students safe from gun violence. Our children’s safety cannot wait.

“As a child advocate and a mother, I am honored to stand alongside Governor Evers to pass his budget that prioritizes our next generation of Wisconsinites.”
