Rep. Madison Opposes Republicans’ Continued Voter Suppression Efforts

By - Jan 14th, 2025 03:14 pm

MADISON, WI – Today, Assembly Republicans passed AJR 1 which would cement Voter ID requirements in the Wisconsin Constitution.

Representative Madison (D-10) issued the following statement:

“Today, Legislative Republicans have shown that their number one priority is passing a constitutional amendment that could disenfranchise voters because their austerity agenda is unpopular. There’s a historic legacy of voter suppression in Wisconsin’s Black communities – this is yet another attempt to silence the voices of Black, Brown and Indigenous people in Wisconsin. Let’s get to work addressing the real priorities of the people of Wisconsin.”
