Milwaukee Attorney Thadd Llaurado Honored as Wisconsin Trial Lawyer of the Year
December 20, 2024 (Madison) The Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ) is proud to announce that Attorney Thadd J. Llaurado of Milwaukee has earned the 2024 Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year honor.
Thadd J. Llaurado is the President and Managing Partner of Murphy & Prachthauser. The firm concentrates exclusively on representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Thadd handles and is an expert in general liability negligence cases, product liability cases, automobile crashworthiness cases and construction defect cases.
“Thadd is a dedicated and skilled trial lawyer and someone who has been in the trenches fighting on behalf of Wisconsin’s injured for many years. His commitment to honing his craft is exemplary and he has achieved outstanding results for his clients in really difficult cases throughout his career,” said President Noah Domnitz, who will serve as WAJ’s president for 2024-25. “This recognition and award are well-earned and well-deserved” added Domnitz.
He has been at Murphy & Prachthauser for over 38 years. He has successfully tried cases to verdict throughout Wisconsin, and in several other states. Thadd has tried and received numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts. He also has prosecuted cases in Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
Thadd and his wife Kathleen have four children (Thomas, Kate, Joe and Patrick) and he is both grateful for their support and proud of their success.
Thadd is also grateful for the support of the attorneys and staff of Murphy & Prachthauser, including Don Prachthauser, Keith Stachowiak, Michelle Hockers, Kate Llaurado Scheidt and Lanette Klepatz.
Finally, Thadd is grateful for the mentorship of the late Jim Murphy, former Managing Partner of Murphy & Prachthauser and Past President of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, who passed away 2007 after a distinguished legal career.

The Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of The Year Award was created in 2000 to recognize a Wisconsin attorney who had made significant contributions to the trial bar by handling a case involving significant change in the law; prosecuting a precedent setting or extraordinarily challenging case; or to recognize those who merit the honor due to their service to the organization or the public at large.
