DWD Opens Unemployment Insurance Law Public Comment Period
Public invited to attend Nov. 21 public hearing or submit written comments Nov. 14 through Nov. 22
MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Wisconsin Unemployment Insurance Advisory Council (UIAC) will begin accepting public comments on Thursday, Nov. 14 regarding Wisconsin’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) law, Wis. Stat. ch. 108.
“The public comment process is an important opportunity for civic engagement and the future of our programs,” DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said. “We invite workers and employers in Wisconsin to participate in a format that is convenient and we value everyone’s contributions.”
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the virtual public hearing sessions on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024. The first session will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the second session from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Advance registration is required.
For those unable to attend a public hearing session, written comments will be accepted between Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, and Friday, Nov. 22, 2024. Written comments can be submitted by email or U.S. mail:
