MILWAUKEE (October 14, 2024) – Downtown Milwaukee is the place for free, delightfully unfrightful Halloween fun! New this year, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 is partnering with Baird and the Wisconsin Center District to present a seasonal display of lights for families.

Now through Oct. 31, Halloween Village at Baird Community Commons at the Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., features a spook-tacular scene for photo ops. The outdoor display invites guests to pose for pictures in the interactive figures and walk through a giant 12-foot pumpkin. Interactive lighted figures include a ghost, scarecrow, Frankenstein, and two different witches, including one on her broom. Halloween Village remains illuminated during both daytime and nighttime hours. The experience is free and open to the public.

Halloween Village is just one of the seasonal activations taking place at Baird Community Commons this fall. Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21’s 3rd annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee presented by Baird will also move to the space. Best described as a pumpkin palooza, the free, family event will take place Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where families can now engage with the Halloween Village décor.

The first 400 guests to attend Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee will have the opportunity to pick out a free pumpkin, courtesy of Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market, fulfilled by Kroger Delivery. Trick-or-treat goodie bags, will also be distributed while supplies last.

Throughout Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee, kids can participate in pumpkin decorating with Artists Working in Education, face-painting, balloon art, photo opportunities with beloved characters, live entertainment and story times, fire engine exploration with the Milwaukee Fire Department, a children’s book sale with Friends of Milwaukee Public Library, and more. Treats will also be available for purchase. Guests of Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee are encouraged to attend in costume. Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee is best suited for children ages 2 – 8.

“Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee is a spook-tacular celebration for Milwaukee-area families,” said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21. “It’s become a tradition for so many of our residents and, best of all, it’s free! No tricks… just treats!”
