St. Ann Center Bucyrus Campus and the Indaba Band Shell will again provide free pumpkins for kids and fall fun for the whole family at the fourth annual Pumpkin Palooza. The FREE event takes place Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the band shell, located to the rear of the campus at 2450 W. North Ave.

A limited number of pumpkins are available, so plan now to come early and let the kids hunt their perfect pumpkin, then decorate it just in time for Halloween.

Each child can choose one pumpkin from the hillside “pumpkin patch” and embellish their selection with paint, stickers and other items at the bandshell. Other activities include a kid-friendly Halloween photo opportunity, treat bags for the children, games and apple cider. Tours of the Bucyrus Campus childcare wings will also be available for those who are interested.

Children are especially encouraged to come in costume.

“We are so pleased to help children safely enjoy the excitement of Halloween right here in their neighborhood,” said Gloria Miller, special events director at St. Ann Center. “Pumpkin Palooza is rapidly becoming a tradition in the neighborhood, because families get to enjoy the fun of the season and make lasting memories. And the kids are so proud to head home with their own one-of-a kind jack-o-lantern to decorate their house.”

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is again able to present this event for families with the help of generous sponsors: Pete’s Fruit Market,  Milwaukee County Office of Equity, Gershia Coggs & G. Spencer Coggs, Black Excellence Awards, Grandma Book’s World, AARP, Attorney Bettie Rodgers, World Mission Ministries, Gloria Miller, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter.
