Department of Public Works 2024 Labor Day Schedule
The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) offices will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. However, some DPW services will be available for limited hours of operation during the holiday weekend.
Garbage, Recycling, and Drop-Off Centers:
- There will be no garbage and recycling pick-up on Monday, September 2. Reminder – collection days shift forward after each City holiday. Review your collection schedule here.
- Drop-Off Centers will be open on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 from 7:00 A.M to 3 P.M. The Centers will be closed on Monday, September 2.
Parking Enforcement:
- No parking meter or hourly restriction enforcement on Monday, September 2.
- No overnight parking enforcement Saturday night into Sunday morning (September 1 from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.), Sunday night into Monday morning (September 2 from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.) and Monday night into Tuesday morning. (September 3 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.). However, vehicles still must be legally parked and not in violation of any posted parking regulations.
- Night parking enforcement resumes Tuesday night into Wednesday morning (September 4 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.).
Tow Lot:
- Open Saturday, August 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Closed Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2
- The Water Works Customer Service Center at 841 N. Broadway will be closed for the holiday on Monday, September 2 for in-person and live telephone assistance.
- Automated account information and bill payment will remain available by calling (414) 286-2830.
- Customers can pay their Municipal Services Bill and check account balances online anytime at milwaukee.gov/water .
- Questions concerning billing or making payments can be emailed to watwebcs@milwaukee.gov or calling Customer Service the following business day.
- For water emergencies, customers are asked to call the 24-hour Control Center at (414) 286-3710.
For other requests, schedules, and information, residents should call (414) 286-CITY (2489), visit the DPW website at milwaukee.gov/dpw, or enter service requests online at milwaukee.gov/click4action. or using the free MKE Mobile Action app (milwaukee.gov/mkemobile). Departamento de Obras Publicas – Horario para el Día del Trabajo 2024
Las oficinas del Departamento de Obras Públicas de la Ciudad de Milwaukee estarán cerradas el lunes 2 septiembre por la conmemoración del Día del Trabajo. Sin embargo, algunos servicios de DPW estarán disponibles en un horario limitado de operación durante el fin de semana festivo.
Basura, Reciclaje y Centros de Entrega:

- Los Centro de Entrega estarán abiertos el sábado 31 de agosto y domingo 1 de septiembre de 7:00 A.M a 3 P.M. Los Centros de Entrega estarán cerrados el lunes 2 de septiembre.
Aplicación del Reglamento de Estacionamiento:
- Los parquímetros y la restricción del límite de horas para estacionarse estarán suspendidas el lunes 2 de septiembre.
- No habrá servicios de control de estacionamiento durante la noche del sábado a la mañana del domingo (1 de septiembre de 2 a.m. a 6 a.m.), de la noche del domingo a la mañana del lunes (2 de septiembre de 2 a.m. a 6 a.m.) y de la noche del lunes a la mañana del martes (3 de septiembre de 2 a.m. a 6 a.m.). Sin embargo, los vehículos deberán estar estacionados conforme al reglamento y no violar ninguna señal y/o regla de estacionamiento publicada.
- El servicio de control de estacionamiento nocturno se reanudará en la noche del martes a la mañana del miércoles (3 de septiembre de 2 a.m. a 6 a.m.).
Corralón:
- Abierto sábado 31 de agosto de 9 a.m. a 1 p.m.
- Cerrado domingo 1 de septiembre y lunes 2 de septiembre
Milwaukee Water Works:
- El Centro de Servicio al Cliente de Water Works ubicado en 841 N. Broadway estará cerrado por el día festivo el lunes 2 de septiembre para la atención al cliente en persona y por teléfono.
- La información automatizada de la cuenta y el pago de facturas continuarán disponibles llamando al (414) 286-2830.
- Los clientes pueden pagar su factura de servicios municipales y consultar el saldo en línea en cualquier momento en: milwaukee.gov/water
