AFP-WI Celebrates School Choice Week
Milwaukee, WI– This National School Choice Week, Americans for Prosperity Wisconsin (AFP-WI) celebrates the Badger State’s historic achievements for the Wisconsin School Choice Program and thanks lawmakers for defending education freedom for all Wisconsinites.
AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:
“We are proud of our AFP activists who passionately advocated for historic funding measures for our students this past year, and we are grateful for policy champions who continue to defend and invest in education freedom.
“As the first school choice program in the nation, Wisconsin continues to serve as an example to the rest of the country that education freedom provides the best opportunities and path to success for students.
“As we celebrate National School Choice Week, we recognize the numerous historic achievements in the Badger State that contributed to the overall success of the national school choice movement. AFP will continue to defend freedom and prosperity for all Wisconsinites, especially when it comes to our children’s education freedom.”
Background:
AFP-WI advocated for SB 330, the Wisconsin School Choice funding bill, which included historic funding for independent charter and private schools. SB 330 passed through both chambers, and Governor Evers signed the bill into law in June 2023.
