Senator Baldwin Statement on Emergency National Security Funding; Calls for Border Deal
Baldwin: “We owe it to the American people to find a compromise that helps secure our border and stops the flow of fentanyl into our communities – and I am committed to being part of the solution”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) released the following statement after voting to advance legislation that would provide support for our allies, including Israel and Ukraine, deliver humanitarian assistance to innocent civilians, and strengthen our Southern border:
“This bill would make long overdue investments in security for our Southern border and help stop the flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl from coming into our country – but the truth is, it’s not enough. I was encouraged by my colleagues’ talks to draft a bipartisan deal that will help address our broken immigration system and strengthen our Southern border, and we must come back to the table to continue those negotiations. We owe it to the American people to find a compromise that helps secure our border and stop the flow of fentanyl coming into our communities – and I am committed to being part of the solution.”
