Senator Agard Joins Legislative Democrats in Roll Out of Elections Bills
MADISON – Today, Legislative Democrats began their rollout of elections and voter education bills. These bills put forward measures to increase voter education and participation, support election administrators, boost government transparency, and strengthen the right to vote. Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement:
[inartilead]“My Democratic colleagues and I know that Wisconsinites are our bosses, and it’s far past time we make sure our elections and government reflect that. We should be making it easier – not harder – for every eligible voter to cast their ballot, support the folks who keep our elections running and create an open, transparent government. The People’s voices must be heard.
“We know that Wisconsin’s elections have been and continue to be a fair, safe process. While Legislative Republicans continue to make voting restrictions, impeachment threats, and baseless election conspiracies a central part of their platform, Democrats are working to build a government that reflects the will of the majority and give power back to the people of Wisconsin.”
