Prost! Join the Inaugural Oktobrewfest at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard

MILWAUKEE – Save the date for the inaugural Oktobrewfest at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard this Sunday, Sept. 24 from noon – 3 p.m. as the Brewers begin the celebration of Oktoberfest. New on tap for the festive season, fans can enjoy a hibernated Leinenkugel favorite, Big Eddy Über Oktoberfest.

Pilot Brewer, Corrine Georges, will reintroduce the beloved Big Eddy Über Oktoberfest, for a limited time. The brew pays homage to the celebration with a bolder, toastier take on an Oktoberfest bier that can only be described as “Über.” With a tawny orange hue, toasted malts and spicy hops, the Big Eddy Über-Oktoberfest is then dry hopped for added hop complexity.

Sunday’s event will not only feature the latest unique brew on tap at the restaurant, but also Oktoberfest inspired cuisine at J. Leinenkugel’s scratch kitchen. Oktobrewfest would not be complete without the Brewmaster Bavarian Pretzel duo, served with beer cheese and horseradish mustard; Nueske’s Hanging Bacon with homemade loaded potato salad; and the Best of the Wurst platter. The Wurst platter, which pairs exceptionally well with the Big Eddy Über Oktoberfest, features knackwurst, bierwurst, weisswurst and slab bacon, served with apple kraut, potatoes, pickles and mustard.

Bernie Brewer and Barrelman will join the festivities from noon – 1 p.m. for photos with fans and guests. Traditional Oktoberfest games will be played throughout the day including a Stein Holding Competition and Best Dressed Competition, with live music provided by the Die Musikmeisters Band. The restaurant will also show the Brewers game live so fans can cheer on their hometown team.
