Near West Side Partners Selects Stephanie Sherman as Associate Director

Sherman brings strategic leadership expertise in nonprofit and small business development

MILWAUKEE – Near West Side Partners (NWSP) has named Stephanie Sherman as the organization’s next Associate Director. Sherman brings more than two decades of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, event planning and business development to NWSP.

“We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to our team. Her passion for community revitalization will help us further engage and collaborate with our neighborhood stakeholders,” said Lindsey St. Arnold Bell, NWSP Executive Director. “Stephanie is perfectly suited to join our team. She brings impressive experience from both the nonprofit and small business sectors to the role, and her passion for helping Milwaukee thrive is evident in all she has done before joining NWSP.”

As Associate Director, Sherman will play a key role in advancing NWSP’s mission of revitalizing and sustaining the neighborhood to be a thriving business and residential corridor. She will be responsible for helping oversee programming, analyze key success metrics and guide fundraising efforts.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of what’s next on the Near West Side. This place is filled with authentic, Milwaukee gems and the vibe here is electric,” said Sherman. “Kicking off my time with NWSP during Near West Side Week provided a perfect introduction to this dynamic, passionate community. I am so honored by the opportunity to collaborate with community members and business owners to support their vision for their neighborhood.”

Sherman brings deep experience and passion for neighborhood revitalization, having led the transformation of several Milwaukee-area commercial districts, including in Westown, Walker’s Point, the Historic Third Ward, the Harbor District and the Village Shorewood. Sherman’s dedication to community revitalization has garnered recognition. She was previously named a Woman of Influence by the Milwaukee Business Journal and was featured in Milwaukee Magazine’s “35 Under 35” list.

She earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies and Affairs from DePaul University.
