Clippers & Cops Program Partners with Milwaukee Christian Center to Invade Cyber High School and Educate Teens on Making Good Choices
Event begins with a youth resource fair followed by program conversation
MILWAUKEE – May 30, 2023 – On Wednesday, May 31 at 9-11:30 a.m. Clippers & Cops’ Campus Invasion Program partners with Milwaukee Christian Center to teach young teens how to make smart choices and avoid getting into trouble. The open conversation will take place at Cyber High School located at 4301 N 44th St., Milwaukee, WI. Topics include decision making, goal setting, conflict resolution, social media and more.
“The relationship between our communities and police is a nationwide problem,” said Arletta Slaughter, Milwaukee Christian Center’s Healthy Relationships Manager. “With the help of Clippers & Cops we’re able to have candid conversations and gain an understanding from both perspectives.”
Clippers & Cops is a nonprofit based in Atlanta where a diversified group of people including police officers come together to have important conversations in effort to create change. Among the group is Clippers & Cops Founder and CEO Tyrone Dennis, a retired Atlanta Police Department investigator known for solving cases on A&E’s hit show The First 48. Dennis believes it is the duty of the police to get to know the people they serve as well as the public’s duty to get to know the officers who swore to protect and serve them.
Media is invited to attend the event at 9:30 a.m. for photo and interview opportunities.
