Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler on Attorney General Kaul’s Re-Election Victory

MADISON, Wis. — Following Attorney General Kaul’s victory, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler has released the following statement:

“The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is thrilled to congratulate Attorney General Josh Kaul on his re-election victory today—a win for public safety, the rule of law, reproductive freedom, and democracy itself.

“Attorney General Kaul tirelessly served our state during his first term, delivering on key promises for Wisconsinites—defending the will of the people in court, advancing justice for survivors of sexual assault, protecting our kids and our environment, and advocating for the resources our first responders need to keep our state safe. Voters have responded with an overwhelming vote of confidence that will ensure that he can build on that record for four more years.

“In his next term, Attorney General Kaul will fight to restore reproductive freedom in Wisconsin and ensure that our state’s 1849 abortion law becomes, as it once was, a relic of a less-free past. And he will ensure that democracy’s foes face a Department of Justice that will never falter in its defense of voting rights and free and fair elections. Congratulations to Attorney General Kaul, his team, his family, and all of those who worked so hard to ensure this win!”
