Trunk or Treat…It’s About the Children and Community Festival happening Sunday
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites families to enjoy fun and positive activities on Sunday, October 31 during the first annual Trunk or Treat…It’s About the Children and Community Festival, from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., on N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. between W. Locust St. and W. Keefe Ave.
Alderwoman Coggs said the event – sponsored by Northcott Neighborhood House, Bader Philanthropies and partners – will be family-friendly and will have “a little something for everyone.”
Pony and hayrides with Milwaukee’s own Black Cowboys will be offered, and there will also be plenty of pumpkins to decorate.
Parents and/or adults must register children upon arrival, as those children will get a free tote for their treats and a wristband. All attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice physical distancing.
Alderwoman Coggs said Milwaukee Police officers will be playing basketball against teams from the community, as the Milwaukee County Parks Department will have the Bernice and Clinton Rose Park open. Several agencies will also be providing community resources regarding health, wellness, aging, housing resources on how to avoid eviction and how to access needed services. Additionally, free COVID-19 vaccinations will also be offered.
“I want to thank Northcott Neighborhood House, Bader Philanthropies and other partners for having a great event that creatively provides safe ways for children and families to enjoy this part of the fall season,” said Alderwoman Coggs.
