Beerline Shuffle community walk takes place this Saturday
The walk will begin and end at the Beerline Plaza located at 3350 N. Holton Street, and the route will feature a scavenger hunt, live music and multiple community art projects.
The first annual Beerline Shuffle, a community walk on the Beerline Trail in both Harambee and Riverwest, is set to take place this Saturday, August 28th from 9 – 11 a.m. The three mile route will showcase local art, music and promote unity. Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderman Nik Kovac who represent the area are encouraging residents to participate in this community event that is organized by the Riverworks Development Corporation.
The walk will begin and end at the Beerline Plaza located at 3350 N. Holton Street, and the route will feature a scavenger hunt, live music and multiple community art projects. Participation in the Beerline Shuffle is free, but for those wanting a Beerline Shuffle T-shirt and other swag bag items the cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Registration and additional information can be accessed at www.riverworksmke.org/beerline-shuffle.
Those participating in the walk can also enjoy the MKE Black Summer Marketplace that begins at 11 a.m. at the Beerline Plaza. The marketplace highlights local Black-owned businesses and will include food trucks, art and crafts, fashion and more.
This Beerline Shuffle will be held rain or shine, and all proceeds will go towards the cost of the event and to support Riverworks’ mission of driving social and economic development to strengthen residents and businesses in Harambee, Riverwest and the surrounding communities.
