Bronzeville wood letters return as part of 10th annual Bronzeville Week festivities
The large-scale wood letters that spell out Bronzeville are once again in place along W. North Ave. (near N. 5th St.), and as part of the 10th annual Bronzeville Week are being decorated in partnership with Artists Working in Education, Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs said today.
The huge letters, taller than the average adult, are works of art paying homage to the rich history of artists that lived and currently reside in Bronzeville. As part of this year’s celebration, local artists Anna Rose and Zakia Wells of Artists Working in Education will be transforming the letters via artistic expression over the next several days.
